February 22, 2017 saw the lowest CRS point requirement for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to become a Canadian Permanent Resident at 441 points.
Well… that record lasted a total of 10 days.
Yesterday, March 1 2017 was the 55th Express Entry (EE) draw for the year which saw point requirements hit an all time low of 434 CRS points! A total of 3,884 invitations were issued for this round.
Is this the direction that the Trudeau government wants to take with immigration? Or is this the effect of the changes that were made to the EE ranking system late last year? Will this downward trend last? Nobody really knows the answers to these questions right now, but I guess the important thing is that it seems that it is getting easier to get into Canada.
2017 is looking like the best year to be part of the Express Entry pool! Did you guys get drawn this time? We really hope that you guys did! As always, if there’s anything you want to ask, feel free to leave a comment below and we’ll get back to you as soon as I can! Alternatively, we’ve also set up a Twitter account @tropics2rockies, so we can also talk there. 🙂
